2022 Winner – Ashley Cyr
Biography: My name is Ashley Cyr. I am 39 years old, and I am from Millinocket Maine, a small town in northern Maine. I am a first year student at Post University, for computer information systems. I am going for my bachelors degree. I decided to start taking classes to better my life, and that of my two beautiful daughters, Lauryn and Lennon. I spent a lot of time in doctors offices and focused on Lauryn’s health, and now that she has become more independent, I saw the opportunity to go to school and I decided to go for it! I am currently in honors courses and maintaining a 4.0 GPA, which was nothing I had planned for, but I’m doing it & I am so proud of myself. I am mostly proud because I am showing my girls that you can always go for the things you want, no matter what adversity you’ve overcome, or any obstacles in the way. There is always time to better yourself. I never thought I would be where I am right now, but here I am, pushing through the hard stuff, and kicking butt. If nothing else, I hope I can be the story that someone reads and decides to go for it! Do the thing! Take the chance, because you never know if this is your chance to shine & do big things with your life! Take the chance!
