Press Release: Attorney Meryl Poulin joins Gideon Asen
Attorney Meryl Poulin has joined Gideon Asen LLC, the premier medical malpractice firm in Northern New England.
Poulin, who will represent plaintiffs in medical malpractice cases and catastrophic personal injury cases, became known to the partners at Gideon Asen while she was representing hospitals in medical malpractice cases at a large Portland-based law firm.
“She was fearless,” Taylor Asen. “I could see right away that she was going to be one of the best trial lawyers of her generation.”
Meryl comes to Gideon Asen from Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Maine’s largest legal aid organization. At Pine Tree, Meryl represented low-income Mainers in housing and eviction cases and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in protection order and family law cases. Meryl tried nearly twenty cases to verdict at Pine Tree Legal and prevailed in all but one case.
“I could not be more excited to join the Gideon Asen team,” Poulin said. “I know, having been their adversary in the past, that Ben and Taylor are brilliant, creative, and highly skilled trial lawyers. Beyond that, though, I know they are relentlessly committed to their clients and to achieving the best result possible. Being on a team like that is what I have always envisioned for my career.”
Originally from Cape Elizabeth, Poulin attended Colby College, where she played varsity hockey, field hockey, and softball and was captain of the hockey and field hockey teams. At Maine Law school, Meryl distinguished herself as an appellate advocate, winning the honor of “Prize Arguer” in her class and the Gignoux Award for Appellate Advocacy.
