2023 Winner – Agatha Wysoczanski
Biography: Growing up amidst the vibrant neighborhoods of Staten Island, New York, I have been deeply shaped by the warmth and diversity of my community. Originally born in Poland, I bring with me the rich cultural heritage and values of my homeland. Currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree at Helene Fuld College of Nursing in Harlem, New York City, I am in my second semester of the accelerated nursing program. I am wholeheartedly committed to making a positive impact in healthcare. Outside of my studies, I immerse myself in hands-on experiences at a Nursing skilled facility. Through caring for others, I aim to embody the same warmth and compassion that have always defined my community.
Reaction Statement: Wow! I am in disbelief. This is such a surprise and honor to be the recipient of the Gideon Asen Perseverance Scholarship award winner. It is not often that a nursing student such as myself against all odds finds herself receiving a scholarship award acknowledging that people do care and are willing to help me with achieving my goals that will benefit the greater good of humanity. I want to thank the firm for allowing me this honor of relieving some of the burden a student can have entering college and I want to thank all that have made this possible. I want to make Helene Fuld School of Nursing and my community proud. Thank you again!
